ABOUT

For this Georgetown project, the client wanted to strike the perfect balance between old and new—honoring the historic charm of the home and her family’s treasured paintings while infusing a fresh, funky sensibility. The goal was to create harmony between the traditional and contemporary without overshadowing the home’s character. To heighten the ceilings and add color and light in the living room, we reimagined her existing collection by creating a striking statement wall featuring a thoughtful arrangement of three family paintings. This gave each piece the prominence it deserved while complementing the space’s architecture. To juxtapose the historic with the modern, we centered a surrealist 1980s circular artwork by Andrea Vizzini above her bold, modular orange couch. The playful combination of styles—timeless tradition with contemporary design—transformed the room into a dynamic, sophisticated space that feels artful, curated, and uniquely theirs. We also helped the dining room take flight with an original 1962 Peace Dove Picasso lithograph that was deeply meaningful to the couple and tied in with a tapestry featuring naturescapes.
